The Tutu Project Event and Pink Plus III Radios
Last September we released our short film about photographer Bob Carey and his personal endeavor called “The Tutu Project.” Using PocketWizard technology, Bob employed remote camera triggering to take self-portraits of himself in a pink tutu. With his wife Linda undergoing chemotherapy treatments, she and her fellow patients enjoyed the photos. This led to The Tutu Project and the creation of the Carey Foundation to support women undergoing breast cancer treatment.
The series has proved incredibly popular, with media coverage from CNN, The Today Show, the BBC, and countless other media outlets. Last fall Bob photographed himself and survivors at a series of halftime events at NFL games.
PocketWizard is proud to announce it is cosponsoring an event to celebrate the Tutu Project’s first anniversary. The event will be held at The Lab NYC, 122 West 26th Street, New York City, on Friday, March 22nd and Saturday, March 23rd, 2013.
The event will officially launch bidding for a limited edition of our popular Plus® III radio trigger made specifically for Bob Carey and the Tutu Project. They are molded in “Tutu Pink,” fully function as a Plus III, and even have a pink backlight! Limited to only 20 units, these will be signed and numbered by Bob, and auctioned off to support the Carey Foundation, a 501(c) charitable organization.
PocketWizard will also be announcing G-Wiz Squared bag in the same Tutu Pink at this event. This special edition of the G-Wiz bag will not be auctioned, but will be available via the PocketWizard site in April. While quantities are not constricted to 20, availability is limited. Once the initial run is sold out, they won’t be available again. All net proceeds benefit the Carey Foundation.
Selected images from The Tutu Project are available in the book Ballerina. All net proceeds from this event, the prints, and the book will be donated to the Carey Foundation.
Full details for the event are available on the Tutu Project blog.
