Our friend Mark Wallace of Snapfactory gave us permission to repost his announcement regarding his WPPI meetups. Here it is!
Mark Wallace is partnering with PocketWizard this year at WPPI. Join Mark in this informal setting to learn about off-camera flash and remote camera triggering. This is the perfect place to ask questions about photography and meet other photographers. Mark will be giving lighting demos and has a never-seen-before demonstration that involves members of the audience. You’ll have to see it to believe it!
Mark will be hosting three meetups. Mark will be presenting his lighting demonstrations at all of them, the only thing that is different is the questions you bring with you. The meetups are informal and tend to take on a life of their own. So come to one or all of them, the choice is yours.
Price: FREE. WPPI registration is NOT required. Location: Meet in the lobby by the lion at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. Bring: Your camera, your questions and a jacket – we will be shooting outside! Time: 7:00pm – 9:00 pm Dates:

We asked you to show us how you MAKE IT POSSIBLE™ using PocketWizard Wireless Triggering Systems. The rules of the first photo contest were simple. Just one off-camera flash was required. 396 images were submitted, ten semi-finalists were chosen, and final judging was done by Mark Wallace.
In the fourth and last episode of Mark Wallace’s latest round of demos, check out this video on how to use a Nikon SU-800 Wireless Speedlight Commander as the master controller for all your flash needs.
Wallace pairs up the SU-800 units with PocketWizard FlexTT5, and goes into detail on the settings of both for optimal flash results.
This free video, almost ten minutes long, has Wallace demonstrating how to set a Nikon camera for optimal results with the new off-camera flash triggering system by PocketWizard. Settings on the PocketWizard gear are covered, as are speedlight settings.
Wallace photographs a model indoors and out. He also covers how to update PocketWizard firmware, an important step to using your new MiniTT1 and FlexTT5. Known in the photo industry for making things clear so photographers can get down to business, this video proves no exception.
We’re sad it’s ending, but Mark’s last Meetup is going to be amazing. Since he could only be in one place at a time, geography kept some people from attending. Guess what? Now all you need is three hours tomorrow and a computer!
Register here to get e-mail updates about the show and additional goodies once the show begins. The event is FREE. All you have to do is tune in!
Mark Wallace is bringing wireless triggering to you in a free 8 city tour and PocketWizard is sponsoring it! PocketWizard is so confident in their latest updates and firmware releases, they are offering a 30-day satisfaction guarantee on new purchases*. On top of that, they are touring the USA with Mark to show you what they mean, live and in-person.
Mark will demonstrate the basic elements of light, show you some TTL tricks, and show you how to apply those techniques to off-camera flash. Learn about sync speed, high speed sync, how to get consistent lighting effects, all about light modifiers and more!
Sadly, the Mark Wallace Meetup Tour is coming to a close. It’s been a long trip, and Mark has met many of you in many places. We were glad to be along for the ride, and thank Mark for an amazing experience. And check out YOUR work on Flickr – cool!
And the winner is – LAS VEGAS! You voted, now Mark is coming to you.
